Note-taking by jurors in civil cases is being recommended by a special Supreme Court committee. The committee has been set up to recommend improvements in the jury system. And committee chairman Dudley McCarter says studies show note-taking benefits juries, especially during long, complex trials. Note-taking is one of several recommendations from the committee. It will be up to the supreme court to decide if any of the recommendations are accepted and new court rules are written.
