Grbac Drives Chiefs to Win in Denver

September 25, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The Chiefs rushed for just 49 yards, and Elvis Grbac threw two interceptions, but when the game was on the line Elvis drove the Chiefs 80 yards for the winning score. The Chiefs beat the Broncos 23-22. Grbac hit Derrick Alexander with 2:21 left on a 22-yard TD pass. Tony Gonzalez caught ten passes for 127 yards and a touchdown. Kansas City’s defense stopped Denver on seven goal-to-go plays, and sealed the win with an interception. The Chiefs have beaten the Broncos three straight times, something no other team has done with Mike Shanahan as Denver’s coach.
