Free trade with China will soon become reality now that the U.S. Senate has approved permanent trade status for the country. Senator Kit Bond is one of the senators arguing in favor of the move. He says it will greatly benefit Missouri farmers. He adds the benefits aren’t limited to agriculture. As for the critics, Bond concedes they have made compelling points. But he counters prosperity and contact with American companies will undermine China’s communist leadership and bring about reform.
