A burst sewage pipeline last July could end up costing the city of Springfield $2.5 million. But the city wants that bill paid by the companies that built and designed the line. The James River forest main was supposed to last 50 years, but it failed after less than 8 years. State attorney general Jay Nixon says he will support the city if it has to resort to a lawsuit.
