Senator Kit Bond has come out strongly for normalizing trade relations with China. The U.S. Senate is debating in Washington a move to give China Permanent Normal Trade Relations. On the Senate floor, Bond said market access plays an important role in the expansion of American businesses. Bond says eliminating trade barriers with China will be especially beneficial to American farmers. He points out Chinese authorities have promised to slash tariffs and eliminate quotas that keep U.S. farm exports out. The senate voted in favor of normal trade relations.
