Quenneville Gets Extension

September 20, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The St. Louis Blues have rewarded head coach Joel Quenneville with a three-year contract extension. The deal will take him through the 2003-04 season. Quenneville joined the Blues in January of 1997, replacing interim coach Jimmy Roberts, who had taken over for the fired Mike Keenan. Quenneville has a record of 151-96-39 and led the Blues to the best record in the NHL last season, before they were ousted in the first round of the playoffs by San Jose. He needs just three wins to pass Brian Sutter’s Blues’ record.
