Chicago’s Sammy Sosa will win this year’s home run race, but he handed the Cardinals a win Sunday. With the Cubs leading 2-1 in the bottom of the 8th, Sosa dropped a fly ball in the right-field corner off the bat of Edgar Renteria, allowing three runs to score. The Cardinals won 4-2, reducing their magic number to two. Darryl Kile pitched 8 innings for his 19th win to tie for the league lead. Matt Morris picked up the save.
