Many people think Mizzou will get thrashed again Saturday, and the season will head right down the drain. In fact, quite a few observers think the Tigers may not win another game this year. I think the Tigers may still have some fight left in them. At the end of last season, it really did appear the team laid down in its final three games, but I don’t think that will happen again. The Tigers won’t beat Michigan State, but I do think they will play the Spartans much tougher than they did Clemson. The Tigers strike me as one of those programs that is going through a stretch where the team just plays much tougher at home than it does on the road. Clemson ran right over Missouri. But Michigan State has to come to Columbia, and the Tigers just seem to play better at home. I think they’ll play well Saturday. They will still lose to the more talented Spartans, and they will lose their next game to Nebraska. But they will not quit this time around, and they will win a bunch of games the rest of the way. The question is, will a 5-6 record be enough for Larry Smith to keep his job?
