One of Gary Foster’s colleagues on the town’s board of aldermen was among the victims in this month’s shooting rampage. Police say Watson killed alderman David Thompson and city employee Rocky Gordon. A second city employee and city policeman were injured. Foster says he had been working with Watson over a disputed easement on his land in the days before Thursday’s dispute. He says its a difficult time, but insists Watson was a friend and neighbor and their hearts go out to his family, and the family of the victims, too.
