A new look at negative ads

All of that nasty stuff we’re hearing our politicians spout about each other seems to motivate voters. Some research says it turns them off and they don’t vote. But a University of Missouri journalism professor says that might not be true. Associate professor Glenn Leshner thinks negative ads actually motivate people to action. He says voters who view campaigns as negative are more likely to cast a ballot. Leshner’s research uses people who voted. He says other, contrary research relies on people who SAY they voted.
