Cards Win 8th Straight Series with Kile’s 17th

September 8, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Jim Edmonds hit a two run homer in the first inning, giving Darryl Kile all the support he would need, as the Cardinals beat Montreal, 6-1. Kile struck out ten in seven innings in winning his 17th game. The Cardinals took three of four from the Expos to win their 8th consecutive series. Will Clark also homered, and Matt Morris pitched two perfect innings of relief, striking out four. The Cardinals reduced their magic number to 14. They now travel to Milwaukee for a three-game series.
