Hog plant to locate near St. Joseph

Seaboard Farms has announced it will not build a controversial hog plant in St. Joseph. But the facility will not be too far away from the city. The company has decided to build across the river, in Elwood, Kansas. St. Joseph chamber of commerce president Pat Lilly says it is the worst case scenario, with the city bearing most of the burden of such a large development, and little if any of the tax revenue.
