Conservation warns about dry conditions

September 7, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

The conservation department wants visitors to its areas to be careful with fire this weekend because some areas are quite dry. Fire program supervisor Doug Halliwell says conditions are not as bad as they were last spring when numerous wildfires broke out. But he says there are still some areas that might be considered dangerous. Halliwell says the department will be staffing offices where there are some active fires going, and will check on areas where the fire danger is high.
