Gregory Breeden will not be getting out of prison tomorrow after all. Breeden has been in jail for bad checks since 1994. He has been in prison since June of ’95. The state board of probation and parole had planned to release him tomorrow. A board official says it thought he would then be taken to Kansas City to face a murder charge. But the prosecutor has dropped that case. When the parole board heard about it, the board reversed its earlier decision. Breeden has been considered a suspect in the murders of seven women in Kansas City, most of them prostitutes. But prosecutors have not been able to get a murder charge against him to stick.
