Don’t call for the "Don’t Call" list

September 5, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

It will be a while before state protections against telemarketers go into effect and a state Do Not Call list is compiled. Scott Holste with the Attorney General’s office says, until then, Missouri consumers will have to be content with some of the limited protections provided by federal law. The state telemarketing law calls for the Attorney General to have regulations written by the first of the year so it can be ready for enforcement by July 1st. Once created, the Do Not Call list will contain the names of consumers who don’t want to be bothered at home by phone solicitations.
