Hammons Wants to Build New Springfield Ballpark

August 30, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Springfield developer John Q. Hammons has unveiled plans to build a new ballpark in Springfield, and says he has a Double-A baseball team ready to move in, although he can’t say which team. The ballpark will seat 10-thousand people. If all the permits are obtained, construction could begin next year. The stadium would also be the home of the Southwest Missouri State University Bears baseball team.
