Justin Gage, who was moved to wide receiver in the spring, is taking snaps at quarterback for the Missouri Tigers this week. Gage is one of Mizzou’s options as the number three quarterback, now that backup Jim Dougherty is lost for the season with injury. Gage, who played on the Tiger basketball team last year, played quarterback last year for the Tigers.Missouri coach Larry Smith says he will no longer give any information to the media regarding injuries. Smith says many coaches are using this policy. Smith is also unhappy that reporters from the Columbia-Missourian attempted to contact suspended player Travis Garvin at home over the weekend. Mizzou’s policy is that interviews with players must be set up through the media relations department, though it’s unlikely an interview would be granted with a suspended player. Last season Garvin was restricted from speaking with the media.
