A local police chief sees the new racial profiling law as a requirement to fill out unnecessary paperwork. Lebanon Police Chief Sam Mustard fears of racial profiling might be warranted in Missouri’s major cities, but not in more rural areas. He doesn’t like the law and doesn’t like the extra paperwork required or the punishment for non-compliance. He notes if his agency doesn’t comply, the department won’t be eligible for certain grants.
