Turner Field, the home of the Atlanta Braves, has not been kind to the Cardinals. They had not won a series in the ballpark since it opened three years ago. But Darryl Kile and Placido Polanco came through with big performances Sunday as the Cards beat the Braves 7-2, to take 3 of 4 in a weekend series. Kile fired a complete game, allowing 8 hits and no walks. He finished off the Braves with a four-pitch ninth. The Cardinals trailed 2-1 in the 7th, when Polanco hit a two-run double to give the Cards the lead. They scored 3 in the 7th and 3 in the 8th to win and move 8 and 1/2 games ahead of Cincinnati. The Cardinals may have lost catcher Carlos Hernandez for the rest of the season. He suffered a back strain. Keith McDonald will be called up from Louisville until Eli Marrero returns from a thumb injury, which should be soon. The Cardinals play at Florida tonight.
