Judge OK’s Clay Co election

August 24, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Craig Porter’s disputed win in the Clay County eastern district county commission race is validated in Clay County court. Incumbent commissioner Jay Lawson challenged the balloting after losing by 55 votes. A judge found only one irregularity in the voting: A widespread shortage of ballots. He says it’s not enough to force another election. The judge did order a recount. That’s set for Friday morning.
