Chiefs Shuffle Lineup on Defense

August 24, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Chiefs coach Gunther Cunningham says he’s shaking up his starting lineup on defense. Cunningham as announced that Eric Warfield will start at cornerback over Chris Dishman, and John Browning will replace Dan Williams at defensive tackle. Dishman is going to the bench because he has been beaten repeatedly for long pass plays. And Cunningham says their could be more changes on the way. He wants to start rookie safety Greg Wesley instead of Larry Atkins, but Wesley has a wrist injury. Elvis Grbac will play the first quarter in the Chiefs’ final preseason game in Tampa Bay Friday. Cunningham says Warren Moon will play the middle two quarters, in his final chance to earn the number two quarterback job. Ted White will play the 4th quarter and Todd Collins will not play.
