Quake shakes southern MO

A mild earthquake registered yesterday in far south central Missouri. The U.S. Geological Survey says it hit around 3:15 yesterday afternoon…and registered 3.9 on the richter scale. The USGS placed the quake near Myrtle Missouri, in Oregon County. The earthquake was described variously as a “boom” and as a “shaking” that lasted five to six seconds.
