Scott Pingel, a Perryville native and division III all-American at Westminster College in Fulton, did not survive cut-down day with the Buffalo Bills. Former Missouri quarterback Corby Jones, who moved to running back in an effort to make the Baltimore Ravens’ roster, was released. Two other former Tigers were cut: the Jets released cornerback Otis Smith, an 11-year NFL veteran, and Arizona cut rookie defensive lineman Terrell Jurineack. Two rookies out of Missouri Southern failed to stick with NFL teams. Buffalo cut guard Mike Tosaw, and the Redskins cut kicker Clay Rush. Northwest Missouri State linebacker Alan Buckwater was released by Cincinnati.
