The Kansas City school district has taken one of the needed steps to regain state accreditation. The district has won new funding for its anti-truancy program. It may also help the district hold on to millions in state funding. Because state funding is tied to attendance, the district loses more than $2 million dollars a year. District chief of staff Jack Goddard says students will be put in in-school suspension to help keep track of them.
