Guilty in case of burning girlfriend

August 18, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A jury suggests a Springfield man go to prison for 30 years for setting his girlfriend on fire. The jury deliberated for three hours before convicting Leo McCullum of assault. The girlfriend, Piper O’Neal, suffered 3rd degree burns on 75% of her body. The prosecution says McCullum poured lacquer thinner on O’Neal and lit her. McCullum’s lawyers say they’ll appeal.
