St. Louis Congressman Richard Gephardt says the democratic national convention in Los Angeles is now Al Gore’s convention. Gephardt says Gore needs to introduce himself to the country, which Gephardt says doesn’t really know him even though he has been vice president for the past eight years. Gephardt dismisses suggestions President Clinton raised the bar too high on Monday night for Gore to clear. Gephardt says once Missourians get to know Gore, they will like him and the vice president will carry the state and help Missouri Democrats sweep to victory in November.
