New Kansas City Knights coach Kevin Pritchard is hoping Kansas City native JaRon Rush will wear a Knights uniform. The Knights selected Rush with their first pick in the American Basketball Association draft. With their second pick in the college portion of the draft, the Knights took former Saint Louis University guard Justin Love, who is trying to make the roster of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns. The Knights later selected former Mizzou star Doug Smith, who won an IBL championship with the St. Louis Swarm this past season. The Knights used their territorial picks to claim former Kansas City Central star Derek Hood, who played at Arkansas, and former Kansas guard Darrin Hancock. Now the Knights must try to convince the players they’ve selected to play for them.
