Teachers are starting to become pretty scare in Missouri, at least it seems like it to administrators trying to hire them. And teachers with extra training like special education can be especially tough finds. Teacher shortages are an annual ritual but Jim Morris with the state department of education says its become even more difficult as the good economy prompts teachers to jump into the private sector. Morris identifies St. Louis and Kansas City as having the worst shortages, along with the state’s smallest districts.
