Sweeney Drives In 100th in Royals’ Win

August 14, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Mike Sweeney has reached 100 RBI’s faster than any Royal in history. Sweeney led the Royals past Baltimore yesterday 10-5, with a homer and a pair of RBI’s. The previous fastest Royal to 100 was Hal McRae, who drove in his 100th run on August 16th in 1982. New shortstop Wilson Delgado, acquired in a trade from the Yankees on Friday, had three hits and Mac Suzuki improved to 6-7. It was Suzuki’s first win at home this season. Former Cardinal Chris Richard, sent to Baltimore for Mike Timlin, hit two homers for the Orioles. The Royals are off today.
