August 14, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

On the first hole of a three-way, sudden-death playoff in Springfield, Pat Perez sank a birdie putt to win the Ozarks Open. Perez, a BUY.COM Tour rookie playing in just his 10th tour event, birdied number 18 at Highland Springs Country Club on the final hole of regulation to remain tied with Mike Heinen and Pat Bates. Perez then birdied 18 again on the first playoff hole to win his first tour event. Perez shot a final round 69 to finish at 18 under par.
