J.D. Drew had a career-high four hits leading the Cardinals to a 6-4 win over Milwaukee. The Cards rallied from an early 4-1 deficit with a 4-run 5th inning to give Pat Hentgen the win. Mike Matheny’s two-out single in the 5th tied the game at 4, and Placido Polanco drove in the go-ahead run with another single. Hentgen pitched 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing 7 hits and 3 earned runs. The Cards took two of three from the Brewers. It’s the first series all season in which the Cardinals have failed to hit a home run. The Cards open a series in Chicago against the Cubs tonight. Andy Benes, 10-6, will pitch against Jon Lieber, who is 10-5.
