Missouri democrats are gathered in Los Angeles to nominate a new presidential candidate and give a boost to a slate of statewide candidates. Delegates gathered at the Warner Brothers studios Sunday night to sample food and drink and hear an old fashioned pep rally to start this convention week. State Party Chairman Joe Carmichael acknowledges the party comes into this convention less sure of itself than four years ago in Chicago, anticipating very close elections this fall. But he says the public is just now starting to pay attention.
