The Royals teed off on Toronto ace David Wells, knocking him out of the game with 7 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings. No problem for the Blue Jays, they knocked Royals starter Brian Meadows, also scoring 7 runs in 3 and 2/3 innings, then they ran up 8 more runs against the Kansas City bullpen. Toronto won 15-7. 8 of the 9 Blue Jay starters had hits, and those 8 all scored at least one run. They banged out 17 hits and three home runs to claim a split of the series. The only thing Toronto didn’t do, was cool off Johnny Damon. He had three more hits to raise his average to .329. He’s now hitting .492 since the all-star break. The Royals host Baltimore tonight.
