A challenge to an election north of Kansas City. So many republicans turned out to vote in Clay County, many polling places ran out of GOP ballots. Now, County Commissioner Jay Lawson wants a new election. Out of 5,600 votes cast, the 9-year commissioner came up 35 votes short. He wonders how many of his supporters weren’t able to cast the ballot for him. Lawson’s opponent hasn’t commented on the prospects for a second go-around.
