The Rams are getting closer to signing wide receiver Isaac Bruce to a contract extension. Bruce is considering a 7-year offer worth 42-million dollars and an 11-million dollar signing bonus. The Rams have a similar offer on the table for defensive end Kevin Carter. The Rams may not be able to fit both players under the salary cap, but the team would like to sign one of them, and worry about the other later.Linebacker Mike Jones sat out Wednesday’s practice with a sore knee, which is not considered serious. Rookie offensive lineman Andrew Kline is still suffering effects of a concussion and will not play in Monday’s preseason game in Tennessee.
