St. Louis Tabbed America’s Top Sports City

August 9, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

In its annual rankings, the publication “The Sporting News” has chosen St. Louis as the best sports city in America. The success of the Blues and Cardinals, and championships for the Rams and Swarm gave St. Louis the top spot. The criteria for the rankings include championships, playoff berths, and fan fervor. St. Louis’ previous high finish was 9th in 1995. New York was second this year, followed by Dallas/Fort Worth. Kansas City is ranked 34th.
