That often heated battle between Joe Maxwell and Gracia Backer in the race for the Democratic Party’s nomination for Lieutenant Governor is over. Maxwell was the victor by a healthy margin. Maxwell says he’s now focusing on November campaign issues — and one of those concerns is the plight of senior citizens who cannot afford prescription drugs. Maxwell says he’ll also do his best to spread the message that he, not Republican opponent Wendell Bailey, is best suited to be the next Lieutenant Governor.
