Matt Blunt claims victory

August 9, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

A Springfield lawmaker is headed for a November runoff against the Speaker of the Missouri House. One advantage for Matt Blunt in the Secretary of State race is the political security that goes along with being the son of a U.S. Congressman. Blunt says he has more than name recognition going for him, though. He boasts of a very specific plan to improve the Secretary of State’s office. Blunt won his primary race against two unknown republicans and faces Speaker Steve Gaw in the general election.
