Troy nurse seeing stars

August 8, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

As if introducing the President weren’t enough, a nurse practitioner from Troy is getting a second dose of fame. Doug Bouldin, a nurse at Lincoln County Memorial Hospital, appeared with President Clinton last month. Now he’s been drafted to speak at the democratic national convention in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. Bouldin says he was chosen for the President’s appearance in Columbia after getting an e-mail message to Missouri nurses looking for HMO horror stories. Bouldin told the story of a St. Louis man who died from a heart attack after being routed to a distant hospital by his HMO.
