The republican national convention went off without a hitch but that probably won’t help grab anyone’s attention. The G.O.P. is tempering its exuberance over last week’s convention with the realization most undecided voters weren’t paying a lot of attention. Missouri delegates say it won’t matter much that the national networks weren’t paying much attention to the convention’s scripted finish. They think George W. Bush will have many opportunities in the coming months to repeat his message.
