Gas and electricity DO mix

She runs a state division that worries about energy. And Anita Randolph thinks hybrid technology–like cars powered both by gasoline and electricity- -is going to be big in a few years. So Randolph bought one of those kinds of vehicles from Honda. She does not have to plug it in. The electricity is generated as the car is being driven, powered by a small gasoline engine. Randolph says the 2-seater gets 54 miles per gallon. And she says acceleration is good and that the car can cruise easily at 70MPH.
