The co-owner of Fitz’s Root Beer gave up a law practice for the restaurant. Michael Alter says its a much more positive business than the hassle of the courtroom. Fitz’s operates as a brew pub for adults and kids at Union Station in Kansas City. He says Fitz’s uses a recipe more than fifty years old. Root beer was invented in the 1800’s as a cure-all medicine to make people feel better.
