14,000 still without power in KC

July 28, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Power is back on for 1,000 or so Kansas City power customers overnight, but there are still 14,000 to go. Tom Robinson with Kansas City Power & Light isn’t sure how much longer it will take to get everyone else back on line. But he notes they’re getting some extra help today from out of town. Lineman from other utilities in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa are headed to Kansas City. They’ll help crews restore customers who’ve been without power since a series of squalls left them in the dark Wednesday night.
