Kimmswick officials think the state gaming commission has made a terrible decision that will harm their town. Alderman Ken Peck says gaming was voted down in Kimmswick years ago, and points out the Missouri Gaming Commission has heard from hundreds of local residents over the years who didn’t want the casino. He says government officials who were in favor of the boat were in favor of fast tax revenue. Instead, he says local leaders should have focused on long term development and zoning.
