Hitman scheme goes bad

July 27, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

An Oklahoma man has admitted trying to hire a hitman to kill four people in Springfield. Tulsa resident Christopher Phillips plead guilty this morning in U.S. District Court to the murder-for-hire scheme. Phillips met with two men at a Best Western in Springfield last May. He wanted 4 people dead he complained were causing him trouble. Unknown what the dispute was but the suspect offered to pay his partners in methamphetamine–up to $5,000 dollars a head. Turned out the two hitmen were undercover agents. Phillips could get up to 10 years in prison.
