The Rams are very thin on the defensive line because of injury. Sean Moran, Kevin Carter, D’Marco Farr and Grant Wistrom are all sitting out with injuries, leaving the Rams with just eight defensive linemen to run drills. Farr has been cleared to begin practice next week. He had offseason knee surgery. Moran is suffering swelling in a knee that he had surgically repaired a couple years ago. The swelling is not surprising. Rams coach Mike Martz says despite the knee problem, Moran has been the team’s most impressive defensive lineman so far.Leigh Steinberg, the agent for Pro Bowl cornerback Todd Lyght, says Lyght plans to finish his career with the Rams. Lyght is working out in California while he waits for Steinberg to finalize his contract for this season. Lyght may end up signing a one-year deal for now.
