Suttle Makes Olympic Team; Peterson Doesn’t

July 24, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Kellie Suttle, a graduate of Francis Howell high school in St. Charles, has made the U.S. Olympic team as a pole vaulter. Suttle finished second in the trials, with a vault of 14 feet, 6 and 1/4 inches. Jason Pyrah of Willard came up short in his quest to make the Olympics in a second event. Pyrah finished seventh in the finals of the 800 meters. He will run in the 1500 in Sydney. Mizzou’s Derrick Peterson was eliminated by one one-hundredth of a second in the semis of the 800.
