Blunt praises pension bill

July 22, 2000 By admin Leave a Comment

Congressman Roy Blunt is strongly supportive of the pension bill passed this week by the House. It allows people to put more money into their IRAs and their 401k programs. He says 84% of the people working for companies of 1,000 or more employees have access to employer-sponsored pension plans. 69% of those working for companies of 100 to 1000 employees do. But he says the record gets worse as the companies get smaller and he thinks small businesses need more opportunities to make pensions available.
