Over 30-thousand competitors will gather in central Missouri over the next three weekends to take part in the Show Me State games. People of widely ranging ages and skill levels battle one another in 33 different sports. Games spokesman Ben Thomas says if you want to compete, and haven’t signed up, you can still get into many of the events, because registration takes place at the site. Thomas says to find out where your favorite event is taking place, pick up a schedule book at a Shelter Insurance agent. The Show Me State Games get underway tomorrow. The torch run to kick off the event begins this evening in Jefferson City. The torch will be carried along the Katy Trail to Columbia.
