Vice President Al Gore spent part of the week in the Kansas City area. He spoke about his candidacy and his support for crime victims legislation. The so-called Crime Victims Bill of Rights was the centerpiece of a speech at Raytown City Hall. Dozens of police officers and sheriff deputies attended as he called for more police and more prosecutors. Critics say the Vice- President is a hypocrite who withdrew his support from the legislation in the past.
